Our Take

Since Edouard Meylan and family took the helm in 2012, H. Moser & Cie.’s rise in independent watchmaking has been astounding. In one decade, the brand has released a slew of exceptional timepieces, established itself a leader in hairspring innovation and manufacturing, and continues to build momentum. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer one of Moser’s timepieces – the Pioneer Tourbillon with rose gold case and Midnight Blue fumé dial.

Moser has never shied away from its vision of satirical marketing and unapologetically modern timepieces. Elegant sports case, tourbillon, classical fumé dial, precious metal with DLC-finished titanium components, this timepiece toys with rigid categories. It’s neither a pure sports watch nor an haute complication timepiece. It exists in the borderlands between both categories. A tourbillon that can take a beating and a sports watch that radiates elegance.

As far as the finishing and technical prowess goes, the Pioneer Tourbillon checks all the boxes. The in-house caliber HMC 804 showcases the brand’s expertise in hairspring design and development, utilizing their patented double hairspring in the timepiece’s tourbillon to average out and compensate for positional errors. An automatic movement with 72-hour power reserve, collectors will enjoy the view of the tourbillon through the sapphire case back as much as they do on the dial. Limited to 50 pieces, the Moser Pioneer Tourbillon is an haute horlogerie timepiece for everyday wear and tear.

The Details

Brand: Moser & Cie

Model: Moser Pioneer Toubillon Blue Fumé

Diameter: 42.8 mm

Movement: The HMC 804 is an automatic tourbillon movement which counteracts the effects of gravity in two ways: the one-minute flying tourbillon, and the patented double hairspring where two identical hairsprings compensate for any positional errors.

Power reserve: 72 hours

Functions: Conceived to counteract the effects of gravity on the watch’s timekeeping precision, the tourbillon is a device in which the regulating organ and escapement are placed, which constantly rotates around a central axis to eliminate any positional errors.

Highlight: Bringing light to darkness, Super-LumiNova® is a photo-luminescent pigment used on different elements. After being charged by light, it emits a glow that makes the reading of time possible even when it’s pitch black.
