Modern and innovative in their approach to watchmaking, Angelus creates timepieces that punch well above their price tag. And that’s especially true for the Angelus U20 Ultra-Skeleton Tourbillon.

On its surface, the U20’s movement architecture, blued bridges, and flying tourbillon all immediately catch the eye. Taking a step closer though, the real marvel of this timepiece is what’s unseen. The attractive levitating effect of the movement is produced by a sapphire main plate. This fully transparent main plate is what allows this timepiece’s owner to gain visibility of the movement, tourbillon, and all its mechanics from every angle. Combined, the skeletonization and sapphire main plate strip the watch down to its bare aesthetic beauty, making it difficult to resist staring.

Under a loupe, the U20 doesn’t sacrifice any quality by focusing too much on the skeletonization of the timepiece. Components are chamfered, polished, and satin finished, entirely by hand. This leaves the watch looking good at arm’s length or up close. Even the case is a finely crafted, innovative hybrid of titanium for the bezel and lugs and carbon fiber for the case and caseback.

Ultimately, what we love about the U20 is that it carries a modern form of watchmaking through the entirety of the timepiece - movement and case, architecture and materials. It’s everything great about 21st century watchmaking.
