To mark the 200th birthday of Moritz Grossmann, the Glashutte-based manufactory introduces the TREMBLAGE Gold anniversary edition, an expression of traditional German craftsmanship reinterpreted through a modern lens. Rather than recreating historical pieces, the watch embodies Grossmann’s forward-thinking spirit, combining technical innovation with meticulous handwork.
Issued as the second commemorative release in 2026, this TREMBLAGE Gold appears with platinum case. The dial is crafted from a solid disc of 750/000 rose gold, with numerals, scales, and typography precisely cut from the same material. A vintage “M. GROSSMANN” logo, modeled after its 1875 form, reinforces the historical connection.
The defining feature of the watch is its dial, executed using the traditional tremblage engraving technique. This highly specialized method involves guiding a cutter in minute, trembling motions by hand, producing a finely textured, matte surface. The process is exceptionally demanding, requiring days of work per dial, and results in a rich, sculptural aesthetic. On this platinum case model, the dial retains a natural rose gold hue, creating a softer visual interplay.
Inside, the hand-wound calibre 100.1 reflects the same philosophy of precision and craft. Visible through the caseback, the movement features a newly engineered oscillator and a finely tuned balance designed for optimal inertia and efficiency. Traditional Grossmann elements, such as the three-quarter plate, large balance wheel, and hand-finished components, underscore the brand’s adherence to its founder’s principles.
