Ever since we first met Stefan Kudoke at Baselworld 2019, there was so much to love about his work – strong German watchmaking aesthetic and high quality craftsmanship at great prices. That’s why we collaborated with Stefan for our 10-piece Gruner Wald Sonderedition. As a massive hit with our community, it’s a pleasure to bring back yet another new creation from the German watchmaking master: the Kudoke 1 Tremblage.
Part of the HANDwerk collection with its new sibling, the Kudoke 2 Tremblage, the Kudoke 1 Tremblage marked the dawn of a new era for the watchmaker. This timepiece introduced many of the brand’s latest design motifs, namely the infinity symbol hour hand, the beautifully minimalistic dials, while also keeping some of Stefan’s historical finishing emblems. This timepiece comes with an all-new tremblage finish in white rhodium. The name “Tremblage” is derived from the French word “trembler,” meaning “to tremble,” and accurately describes the characteristic motion used to hand-work the surface with a fine graver in countless steps. At KUDOKE, this process is carried out entirely in-house, from the first touch of the graver to the final finish, including the electroplating. Each piece therefore carries the unmistakable signature of the artisan’s unique craftsmanship.
Everything about this timepiece at its price is astounding. Maybe no more so than the movement. It’s frankly hard to find many other well-finished timepieces in the same category of watch – this is ultimately the reason why Stefan won the “Petite Aiguille” Prize 2019 at the GPHG for best watch between 4-10k CHF with the Kudoke 2. The movement with its gold frosted mainplate, blued, and black-polished screws punches well above its weight class and will surely be a joy on the eye for its future owner.
