From day one, De Bethune spoke to us as horology enthusiasts, and it’s clear why. As an OG amongst modern independents, the brand fuses together the best of fine watchmaking, innovative technology, and sci-fi aesthetics in a seamless manner. For futuristic timepieces in horology, there’s simply not much better. Today, we’re pleased to present one of the most popular time-only timepieces from the brand’s catalog – the DB27 Titan Hawk V2 with black microlight dial.
As one of De Bethune’s only “simple” timepieces, this iteration of the DB27 Titan Hawk houses the automatic AUTOV2 caliber, featuring a single barrel with 60 hours of power reserve and 29 jewels. Characteristic of the brand’s technical prowess, the visible titanium balance with white gold is a patented system, utilizing an optimized oscillating weight made of titanium and tungsten alloy for a higher degree of mechanical efficiency.
One of the primary reasons this timepiece is so coveted is due to the brand’s patented floating lug system. Easily recognizable by fanatic indie collectors, the lugs are one of the most iconic design innovations in indie watchmaking since their arrival in the original DB28 from 2011. Providing a snug and comfortable fit under every possible condition, both for wrists big and small, the floating lugs are directed by an integrated drawback-spring that automatically pushes the lugs to the ideal position on the collector’s wrist.
