Chopard L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25

$61,600

Everything in watchmaking is a gradual process. Nothing is an overnight success. With Chopard, the brand’s commitment to fine watchmaking began almost 30 years ago with the launch of L.U.C in 1996. The brand’s first in-house movement was released in that year, and over the last 29 years, the watch community has seen Chopard climb the ladder of high watchmaking with everything from ultra-popular sport watches in the Alpine Eagle to ultra-complicated chiming timepieces in the Grand Strike. Today, it’s our pleasure to showcase one of Chopard’s exceptional timepieces, the Quattro Spirit 25 released at Watches & Wonders 2024.

The Quattro Spirit 25 stands as one of the most refined expressions of what L.U.C has become: a manufacture capable of pairing technical depth with genuine artistic restraint. Housed in a 40mm white gold case, the watch is defined by its austere monochromatic black Grand Feu enamel dial. This is an exercise in minimalism that underscores Chopard’s mastery of traditional métiers d’art. The surface is flawlessly smooth and richly glossy, providing a dramatic contrast to the large jumping-hour aperture at six o’clock and the single, centrally-mounted Dauphine hand. It is a deceptively simple design, the kind that only works when every detail is executed at the highest level.

Powering the timepiece is the L.U.C 98.06-L, a hand-wound movement that embodies Chopard’s signature Quattro technology. Four stacked barrels deliver an impressive 192-hour (8 day) power reserve, allowing the movement to maintain chronometric stability even as it drives the instantaneous jumping hour mechanism. The finishing is in line with the maison’s top-tier creations: Geneva stripes, polished bevels, and the stately architecture expected of a watch bearing the Geneva Seal.

Limited to 100 pieces, this edition of the Quattro Spirit 25 captures the intersection of classical watchmaking and innovation. It celebrates the evolution of L.U.C not through extravagance but through restraint, showing how far Chopard has come in its pursuit of precision, beauty, and horological excellence. In a catalog increasingly rich with complications and bold designs, this black enamel Quattro Spirit 25 stands out for its quiet confidence.
