Last year, we were thrilled to welcome another Angelus timepiece to the Esperluxe collection โ the Chronodate. This year, the La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacture is adding to the repertoire with three new models. This new model features an ultra-lightweight titanium case with a velvet black dial. This timepiece has two options, either a sporty rubber strap or a fully integrated titanium bracelet.
Inspired by the brandโs legendary Chronodato, the first chronograph with integrated annual calendar function, the Chronodate brings a modern twist to the classic. From the lugs, movement architecture, color palette, and case shape, collectors will clearly see a connection between this timepiece and the aesthetic of its modern siblings. Nods to the vintage timepiece carry over to this modern wonder, especially in the date indication on the chapter ring, bicompax subdials at 3 and 9 oโclock, and applied Arabic numerals.
With a brand new movement, caliber A-500, is housed in a beautiful, aesthetically modern 42.5mm case. Angelus has designed a complex case with six main components that brings the case middle and lugs into a single line and houses the bezel marked with twelve notches. Coupled with carbon composite pushers, the Chronodate is a masterful redux of the brand’s classic chronograph.
